A Cosy Place to Relax...

Less formal then the restaurant, the bar is more rustic & cosy and is the perfect place to relax with friends, be it with a bottle or two of wine and some food or find a quiet corner and loose yourself in that favourite book!

The Sun Inn's wine list is put together by the combined brains and palates of host Bernie and chef and wine snob Craig along with the region’s leading independent wine suppliers...

We try to keep the main list to a manageable choice of no more than 50 or so bins, some of which we hope will compliment The Sun Inn's style of food, others which are better suited to glugging on their own before eating.

On top of the main list is the reserve list, wines which are in limited availability or with from low yield, representing the finest and very best of the winemakers in the new and old worlds, Craig encourages you to try these, and defies anyone who does not enjoy indulgencies every now and again!

As an independent free house it is our aim to serve a good quality, ever changing selection of local and regional cask ales. Innis & Gun have pride of place in our fridges – a beer proven to be great with many dishes, brewed in Edinburgh, as does award winning Edinburgh NO.3.

Historically Edinburgh has a great brewing excellence, in the 19th century it was home to around three dozen breweries. Now there is only a handful.
